The buttons on the top and the clear temperature display on the front are very intuitive for each of the settings. The temperature can be set anywhere from 61 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit when the air conditioning is running. The timer can be set in one hour increments from 0 to 24 hours.

The fan mode and the air conditioning mode have two speed settings which are essentially low and high for each (clearly indicated by a fan blade with low speed having fewer blades and high speed having more blades on the fan).

From my own power testing, this unit uses anywhere from 127 watts to 684 watts, depending on whether or not only the fan is running or the air conditioning is running on its highest output.

One of the minor downsides that I have noticed is that the vertical directional blinders in the front have to be opened manually, and they only open approximately 90 degrees straight outward from their completely shut state. I didn't see an option to direct the flow up or down at all.

Overall, this is a great choice for cooling a decent sized room or even dehumidifying if wanted.

This 10,000 BTU portable air conditioner has a feature that many others don't have. It doesn't require emptying which is hugely convenient. Most portable air conditioners have to be emptied regularly to function. Emptying is not always easy to do because of drain design. This machine only needs to be emptied if you're using it as a dehumidifier or if the humidity is very high. It uses the collected water to cool the condenser coils making frequent emptying unnecessary. It does recommend cleaning the air filter every 2 weeks. This just involves rinsing it off. This unit is smaller than other comparable units. It has a sleep timer and 2 fan speeds. It comes with a drain hose for continuous drainage if you're using it as a dehumidifier. The vent is able to be positioned manually to control the airflow. There is also a remote control making it a great choice for people with mobility issues. Overall, it's a solid air conditioner. It works well and is easy to use. Do recommend.

Works just as advertised! Using it to cool an upstairs bedroom that's right above our garage and gets really warm in the summer. It works great for that space.

I an so excited to finally have a portible air conditioner. The set up on this is easy and the out-put is great. We have central a/c but the back bedroom never gets cool enough during the summer months, and living in the south we have long summer month. This unit works great and is easy to move from room to room.

We’re using this in our upstairs office area that doesn’t have AC, and it honestly changed everything up there. It used to feel stuffy and hot, everyone but me avoided going up there, and even I could only stay a couple hours to get work done.

Now it’s completely different. It cools the space down fast and actually makes it comfortable to be up there. Everyone wants to go up there now, and we’re even talking about turning part of it into a game room since it’s so much better!

The no drain feature is a big deal for us. I didn’t want something I had to constantly mess with, especially in an attic space, and this has been super low maintenance.

It’s also not loud in an annoying way at all, which I really appreciate since I work up there. It comes with a remote too, and I use that all the time from my desk so I don’t have to get up and adjust anything.

It came with everything we needed and sealed up in the window really well. No gaps or weird airflow. No worrying about bugs getting in.

It also doesn’t take up as much space as I expected. We have it tucked into a corner and it’s not in the way at all.

This is a great little portable air conditioner/dehumidifier. Our home was built with an HVAC system that doesn't really "fit" and so there are rooms that never consistently cool while others are freezing.

Before this unit, the only way to get a comfortable temperature in the far bedrooms was to set the a/c so low that the system runs nearly constantly and then the other half of the upstairs is so cold I need a heated blanket in the summer!

This system has helped to cool the hotspots quickly and efficiently. It brings the temp down to comfortable levels within an hour or two, without a lot of hassle. It works best if we put it near the window and combine cooling with dehumidifying (since we are in a hot/humid summer climate). That wasn't terrible to set up and it doesn't cause an eyesore outside (which our HOA would complain about if it did, I'm sure).

As long as I avoid running it during our utility company's "peak" time, this isn't causing major increases in my utility bill, either, making it a good value.

I got this for a friend to use in an older home that doesn't have central air conditioning. It's probably 100 years old in the Chicago suburbs, where it's under a historic preservation order, so central air isn't an option. Most people in his neighborhood use window units (don't get me started on how 'historic' that looks), but this was more efficient than any of those that I saw, and he hates window units anyway.

Based on my initial testing, this is very efficient, and pretty quiet as well. The best part is that you don't have a water condensate tank to empty under normal circumstances, so it won't shut down when the tank gets full like my old unit does - constantly. The energy usage on this was listed as $86 per year, which is great. It's spec'd at under 800 watts, which is insane to me. I haven't tested the actual watt usage, so I'm skeptical.

The controls are easy to use, and it even comes with a remote control, so you don't have to get out of bed if you get cold or hot to adjust it. It's rated to cool 450 square feet, which is plenty for my friend's bedroom, which is where this is going. He also owns a 32' fifth wheel, and has said that this would actually cool the entire thing, since the rooftop unit has been dead for years. He'll just have to fashion a window panel for it, since his RV windows are smaller than the included panels.

I got this portable AC hoping for a convenient, space-saving cooling solution to cool my bedroom, which gets much warmer than the rest of my house. I like small appliances generally, and I envisioned this helping with a household problem, but it wasn’t all I was hoping for. This unit does a few things well, but there are some noticeable drawbacks.

First, the cooling power is solid. It does a good job of bringing down the temperature in a smallish room fairly quickly. However, the fan is weak and barely moves the airstream 3 feet from the unit. You can’t adjust the fan speed, either, that I can see. The fan is moderately quiet, which I actually don’t love, because I love to sleep with a loud fan in the room. I can always use another fan, lol. But this one is quiet enough you can have a conversation next to it and still hear each other, so take that as good or bad, as you prefer.

The buttons on the unit don’t work too well. They aren’t actual buttons, but those flat pads that sort of sense your finger. The temp down button is as sensitive as expected, but not the temp up button- that one you have to try over and over again, while standing in front of the freezing air stream to try and get it to shut off. The power button seems to work ok.

Also, what I didn’t like is that the size of the unit is bigger than expected, not just because of the unit itself, but because of the enormous exhaust hose that comes out of the back of it. This is a major issue. It’s quite bulky and not very flexible, which makes installation awkward and limits placement options. You basically have to place the unit straight out from the window. The hose only goes about 4 feet, and it doesn’t bend well. The instructions also say to avoid bends in the hose, as well, so you can’t place it very far to the side of your venting opening. The only space to set it up was near my desk, and it takes up a huge amount of the desk space. The hose is not flexible enough for it to go up, around, sideways, or under the desk. Trying to position the unit near a window while dealing with the stiff, enormous hose was super frustrating and greatly limits where you can place the unit. For me, I can move it maybe 6-12 inches in 3 directions without popping the hose off the back. It’s better than nothing, and I can move it enough to sit at the desk, but it’s not all I was hoping for.

Even with the unit having wheels, the maneuverability isn’t great. It doesn’t roll too well, although much better than lifting it. It does have handles on the sides, at least.

The instructions also say that the unit needs a full 20 inches of airspace on all 4 sides, which limits the placement of it even more. It also requires the window to stay open permanently. There is a plastic piece that blocks air, but you have to provide your own duct tape or other substance to seal air leaks around it. There is also no good way to secure the window when it has to stay open all the time, which is a home security risk.

I do like that the unit is self-evaporating, and, so far, I haven’t had to empty it, (and it doesn’t need to drain to the outside) so that is a plus. I haven’t tried it on the dehumidify setting yet, though, which the instructions say requires a drain hose and a separate container.

Overall, it’s a mixed experience. The cooling power is definitely a strong point, but the large size, limited maneuverability, and cumbersome, space-eating exhaust hose take away from the convenience you’d expect from a portable air conditioner. You are probably better off getting a window unit, unless you plan to vent this through a wall in a room with a bunch of space. The cost is also similar to a window unit, so that’s probably better if you have that option.

Quick set up, quick room cool down. Small and easy to move around. Problems are when on fan mode it shows the last temp. setting from ac, would be better if had a symbol that fan was active, can be confusing. The remote does not have a backlight so you need to turn on a light at night to change settings. I'm going to assume that the lower cost is why it doesn't have more features.

This little gem works great. The price is good and it functions perfectly. I don’t, however, recommend dropping it on your toe while getting it out of the box. That hurts. Lol
